About Oxford, Edmonton
Oxford is a peaceful residential neighborhood in northwest Edmonton, located within the Palisades Area Structure Plan (ASP). Annexed in 1982, it is bordered by 167th Avenue, 133rd Street, 153rd Avenue, and 127th Street. Once used for agriculture, Oxford has since developed into a family-friendly community with quiet streets and a well-planned road network of loops and cul-de-sacs.
The neighborhood is primarily made up of single-detached homes and features a large school-park site, a stormwater management lake, and a protected seasonal wetland in the north. Development began in the late 1980s, with most of the southern portion completed by the late 1990s, while the northern section continues to grow.
Oxford is named after “Oxford House,” a historic Hudson’s Bay Company trading post in Manitoba. With scenic green spaces, convenient road access, and a strong sense of community, it remains a desirable place to call home in Edmonton’s northwest.
